Security
IntelliTrack uses role-based security. Role-based security restricts system access to authorized users according to the role or roles assigned to the user.
System Features
The primary purpose of the user role is to permit user access to system features, such as adding items, adding inventory, and performing inventory adjustments and moves. For a complete listing of the system features, see " System Features".
Note: If a FeatureAn option available in IntelliTrack. Some examples include Items, Consumable Inventory, Containers, Locations, Assets, Issue, Receipt, Return, and many more. When a feature is added to a role, and the role is assigned to the user, the user has access to the feature. Many features contain both edit and read-only access. is not available to be assigned to a role, it is because the IntelliTrack license for the logged-in user does not contain access to this feature.
User Role
A user role contains access to system features. It is assigned to an IntelliTrack user; a role is added to IntelliTrack at the Role Management page; see "Role Based Security" for more information.
Important: To add a RoleThe role is a collection of system features. Each feature has an access level of either read-only or edit. A role is assigned to a user. Admin Role
The predefined Admin RoleThe system automatically creates an Admin Role at account creation. It contains full access to all system features. This role cannot be deleted. Features cannot be removed from this role; however, features can be added to it. This role must be assigned to at least one active user in the system. is automatically created by the system. It contains the ability to view, create, edit, and assign user roles. This role contains access to all functionality, including Admin-related pages, such as the Role Management and User Management pages. The predefined Admin role cannot be removed from the list of roles and features cannot be removed from this role. However, features may be added to this role. More than one user may be assigned to this role, and at least one active user must be assigned to this role at all times. When your IntelliTrack account is created, it is setup for you with a user assigned to this Admin role.
User
Important: To add a user to the application, you must have edit access rights to the Users feature.
An IntelliTrack user is someone who uses the application and operates the software. When you add a user to the application, you give the user an account that includes a username, password, and role or roles. The user account allows the user to log into the application and operate the software based upon the role or roles assigned to him or her. A user is added from the User Management page; see "User Management Page" for more information.
